My friend and I passed a group of college students heading up a mountain trail with all their backpacking gear similarly packed, including: a full size pillow, a campfire broiler still with the packaging, and one of them carrying a gallon of water in their hand! Oh that is funny. They will learn! I hiked with an intern in my wilderness ranger days who also brought a pillow and a leather bound Bible. Our packs were so heavy already, I had to admire the dedication.
